Chippenham Quarters – Connecting the Whole Town

Chippenham Chamber & Town Team is continuing to develop the Chippenham Quarters approach as a practical way of bringing businesses, organisations and communities together around the different parts of our town.

The town centre is already represented through the High Street, Heritage, River & Rail and Artisan Quarters, each reflecting the distinct character, opportunities and businesses within that area. The next stage is to widen this approach beyond the traditional town centre, recognising that Chippenham’s business parks and employment areas are also a vital part of the town’s economy.

The creation of the new Bumpers Farm Quarter is an important first step in that expansion, giving businesses based there a stronger connection into the work of the Chamber & Town Team and a clearer voice in conversations about skills, transport, investment, promotion and the future development of Chippenham.

Our ambition is ultimately much broader: to develop a network of Quarters that can include businesses across the whole of Chippenham.

Rather than seeing the town centre, business parks and neighbourhoods as separate places, the Quarters provide a framework through which they can connect, collaborate and share opportunities. Whether a business is based on the High Street, beside the railway, in one of our historic streets or on an employment estate, it contributes to the same local economy.

By gradually extending the Quarters across Chippenham, we hope to create a stronger and more representative business community — one that can celebrate the individuality of different areas while working collectively to make Chippenham a better place to do business, work, visit and belong.
