What’s happening in Chippenham

Community activity continues to grow across Chippenham, with local organisations, businesses, charities and public services working increasingly closely to strengthen the town and support local people.

Recent activity has included the continued development of the Chippenham Quarters initiative, bringing a stronger focus to the High Street, Heritage, Artisan and River & Rail areas of the town centre. The approach is now also expanding beyond the town centre to include Chippenham’s business parks, beginning with the new Bumpers Farm Quarter, helping to connect businesses across the wider town more closely with the Chamber and Town Team.
Partners are also exploring opportunities to bring more community, health and social support services into vacant town-centre premises, helping to increase footfall while making services more accessible.

The Chippenham Community Hub continues to provide a busy programme of social inclusion groups, health and wellbeing support, drop-ins and partner activities, while preparations are progressing for the Timber Street Through Time heritage project in September that will be a part of the Chippenham celebration of National Heritage Day.

Work is also developing around tourism, community safety, town-centre improvements and better coordination of local events.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate the growing value of the Chamber and Town Team approach: business, community, councils and local organisations working together across the whole of Chippenham to make it a more welcoming, connected and vibrant place to live, work and visit.
